Ready Welder 10000CS [by ollllllo] 09 Mar 10, 10:03:11
Product Reviews:: Ready Welder 10000CS
Every serious offroader needs to carry one of these!

The Ready Welder, with its convenient carry case, has to be the most portable welder available.

This MIG Welder can be powered by batteries, or by AC current when connected to a welding machine as a Spool Gun.

The Ready Welder welds very thin metals using a 12 and a 6 volt battery, (18 volts) or very thick metals with 36 volts DC, (three 12 volt batteries) yielding from 45amps, up to 350 amps of power.

It welds steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or any weld-able metal or alloy; in addition: Use it as a Spool Gun or as a stand alone welder. Ready Welder II welds with, or without a gas tank, as with flux core electrode wire.

The Model 10000 is the original Ready Welder II, introduced in 1997. Since then, there have several new Models introduced, and each has all of the same basic functions as Model 10000. The latest of the new Models, introduced in early 2004 is the -CS model variations. The Cold Switch Models have added a safety feature of trigger release cutoff from live power to the unit, when not welding.

We currently have 2 units that we carry on every trail ride.
I cant say how many times we have used this since we have had it. For repairs that otherwise would have been unrepairable without a welder this has proved to be the most valuable tool in the jeep.

Recently I have read articles in some popular 4x4 magazines testing the other so called portable welders that have come out on the market. These welders have a self contained battery that requires a charge, and are only good for a maximum of 2 minutes on heavy steel.

Ready welder claims the ability to weld up to 3/4 steel for up to 20 minutes continuous. We have welded with 2- 12v battery's for at least 20 min. only stopping every so often to check the weld with absolute amazement.

Every vehicle on the trail has at least one battery that is always being charged while it driving, so right there is a virtually unlimited amount of welding.

Hook up time is a minute or so, and it uses consumables that are readily available anywhere that sells welding supplies.

Retail on the base model is $599.00
CS model is $699.00

Rating: (1= dont waste the money, 10= Super deal)

I give this product a 10

Re: club member needs help! [by ollllllo] 09 Mar 10, 08:03:01
General Discussion:: club member needs help!
the tires are from TSC and the load rating is the same as every other 7k trailer tire ive seen

I have had a bent axle on one of my teams old enclosed haulmarks. It was from overloading. we couldnt travel more than 500 miles without changing a tire with that POS.

No one is passing blame. The trailer has seen some hard miles with some very heavy loads. Before I took the responsibility to maintain it.

The bearings are freshly packed, the u bolts are tight, I have not put a tape on anything, however when you tow it straight, you can clearly see the rear tires on one side and not on the other.

It has seriously worn a few tires tires in the last 3 trips.
including a blow out on the BeaveRun trip.

not really.

we occasionally see girls driving their husbands or boyfriends vehicles, but girls with their own 4x4's on the trails are few and far between.

I can say that since meeting Cora, I do seem to notice more women driving on the trails than in the past. could be i just pay attention now.

Come on ladies show these guys how its done!
4x4101 would be the perfect place.
